Eating Out

We are very fortunate to have a number of great country pubs within a few minutes drive of Thatched Eaves. The Alice Lisle in Rockford, The George in Fordingbridge, the Royal Oak in North Gorley and the Horse & Groom in Woodgreen to name but a few.  There are many more that we think are well worth a visit and can offer you some pointers if you need them. All are family and dog friendly and offer delicious and varied menus.

If you prefer to stay closer to home, we have a wonderful 11th Century pub right next door to the cottage called The Old Beams which is independently owned and run and offers fantastic food and drink, allowing you to relax and enjoy yourselves whilst leaving your car safely parked up on our private drive. We even have an electric charging point if you need a recharge.

If you are looking for more of a restaurant experience, the market town of Ringwood is 5 minutes away by car/taxi/bus and has a number of other pubs and restaurants offering international flavours such as Italian, Indian and English cuisine.

If you want to explore Ringwood but would like to leave the car back at base, there are several taxi firms nearby who will whisk you into town for few pounds or there is a direct bus service (with armchairs and free WiFi!) that stops about a minute’s walk from Thatched Eaves and will take you into Ringwood in 5 minutes or if you’re feeling adventurous, Bournemouth in around 45 minutes.  If you would like to explore Wiltshire, the same bus can take you north to Salisbury in around 30 minutes.

One thing is for sure, you are never going to be short of places to eat in when you are staying at Thatched Eaves. You will find details on all of these local eateries within our Guest Information Folder in your bedroom.
